Once again this year, a group of students from Dolz and Bru received a visit from architect Mònica Soto to carry out the activity "Architecture in the Classroom," organised every year by the COAC (Official College of Architects of Catalonia). Beforehand, in class, we had introduced this activity and prepared ourselves to become little architects for a morning.
Mònica told us about her professional career, showed us different projects she had done as a student and as a professional, and explained the practical activity she had prepared for us: in groups, we would carefully observe different spaces in the school, such as the playground or the Dolz classroom — what do we see? Is there noise? Is there light? How do we feel in this space? — and afterwards we transferred all the observations we had gathered onto floor plans, just as architects do!
This activity also allowed us to work as a team, share ideas and opinions, and manage to reach agreement to achieve a joint final result. Well done!
